CESAR CHAVEZ BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY
The Office of Local 13 will be closed on Monday, March 30, 2015 in observance of Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday.
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING
THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 2015 @ 7:30 P.M.
All members who have been elected to an office or committee need to be at the Regular Membership Meeting @7:30 p.m. to be sworn into office. Please save the date of Tuesday, April 21, 2015 – details will be mailed to you.
UPDATE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
It is important that ALL Class A members and Class B registrants update their address/phone number(s) with the Dues Office at ILWU Local 13. Important mailers regarding the contract will be mailed out soon.
CESAR CHAVEZ PAID BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY
Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday Tuesday, March 31, 2015 is a paid holiday. Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year (2014) and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days (exclusive of the holiday) Monday through Friday will receive a paid holiday for Cesar Chavez Birthday. This means you must work two of the days: Monday, March 30, Wednesday, April 1, Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3, 2015.
Under the current contract one does not have to meet the availability requirements if you worked 1300 hours in the prior payroll year (2014) to receive Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday pay.
Persons taking a vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk before April 3, 2015. Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk before May 22, 2015. The Cesar Chavez birthday holiday pay will be paid on the pay check of April 17, 2015.
ATTENTION
Any members who did not make their hours in 2014 (800/1300) please contact the Records Clerk regarding vacation and holiday pay.
