LABOR DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST/PARADE

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2013

Brothers & Sisters- please come out with your families and enjoy our pancake breakfast at the Dispatch Hall from 7:30 am – 9:30 am. After breakfast, please join us for our Labor Day march to Banning Park. Let’s not let other labor organizations upstage the ILWU in our own backyard. Let’s show our employers how united we are and have another 2,000 members/families march for labor.

LABOR DAY PAID HOLIDAY

Labor Day Monday, September 2, 2013 is a paid holiday. Only registered members who have 800 qualifying hours in prior payroll year (2012) and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days Monday through Friday (exclusive of the holiday) will receive a paid holiday for Labor Day. This means you must work or meet the availability requirements for at least two of these day, Tuesday Sept 3, Wednesday Sept 4, Thursday Sept 5, and Friday, Sept 6, 2013.

LABOR DAY IS ONE OF THE HOLIDAYS THAT EVERYONE HAS TO MEET THE TWO DAY AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS.

Persons taking vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Dispatch Hall on or before September 6, 2013 or you will not receive the holiday pay. Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk on or before October 25, 2013.

The Labor Day holiday pay will be paid on September 20, 2013.

To be made available, this means you cannot pass a job in your skill category or a clerk job
