Dandelion Chocolate

April 14, 2021

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are writing to ask your support for workers at Dandelion Chocolate in San

Francisco, who will be voting in an NLRB election to join ILWU Local 6 next week.

Dandelion Chocolate is a gourmet, bean-to-bar chocolate company with multiple facilities in San Francisco and additional locations in Japan and Las Vegas. Dandelion workers produce the company’s high-quality, ethically-sourced chocolate bars from scratch and have built Dandelion’s stellar reputation in the industry. These workers have been organizing throughout the pandemic — they want transparent and fair wages, input over major company decisions, and above all, a voice on the job.

Last month, Dandelion Chocolate workers expressed their intent to management to join ILWU Local 6 and will be voting in an NLRB election next Tuesday, April 20 to join the ILWU. Leading up to the election, we want to show Dandelion Chocolate’s management that the company’s customers strongly support the union.

To show your support for these workers, please consider making an online purchase at store.dandelionchocolate.com and in the comment box provided, note that your purchase is in support of Dandelion Union. The company sells gourmet chocolate bars, truffles, hot chocolate mix, and more — all make perfect gifts and are an easy, delicious way to show solidarity with workers organizing to join the ILWU.

Dandelion Chocolate workers chose the ILWU as their union because of our longstanding commitment to democracy, transparency, and mutual support. These workers are excited to join their industry brothers and sisters in Local 6, who also represents workers at gourmet food and beverage companies like Guittard Chocolate, Heath Ceramics, Anchor Steam, and more.

We appreciate your support of the ILWU Organizing Department’s organizing campaign at Dandelion Chocolate and are looking forward to welcoming Dandelion Chocolate workers into the ILWU family next week.
