Comebacks have been extended on weekends on UTR, H/L and C/L’s starting dayside on Monday, November 2nd and ending on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
70% rule is in effect. Please physically distance yourself from one another at the Dispatch Hall and on the job.
END OF DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Daylight Savings Time end officially at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at which all clocks are moved back one hour to 1:00 a.m. To avoid confusion in payroll, it has been agreed by the Locals involved that the following procedure shall be used. Gangs and individuals working the second shift beginning Saturday night, October 31, 2020, and the third shift beginning at 3:00 a.m., Sunday, November 1, 2020, shall finish the shift on Daylight Savings Time. Gangs and individuals ordered for the first shift on Sunday, November 1, 2020, shall start the first shift on Pacific Standard Time.
ELECTION DAY
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2020
In light of the importance of next week’s election, the parties have agreed, per Section 5.22 of the PCL&CA and CLRC Mtg. No. 8-1960, to cease all operations Coastwise on the first shift at 4:00 p.m. on November 3, 2020 so that worker have additional time to vote.
OFFICE OF LOCAL 13
CLOSED VETERANS DAY
The Office of Local 13 will be closed on Friday, November 13, 2020 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. The dues office re-open for business on Monday, November 16, 2020.
VETERANS DAY PAID HOLIDAY
Veterans Day Wednesday, November 11, 2020 is a paid holiday. Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year 2019 and meet the availability requirement for at least two (2) of the five (5) days, Monday through Friday (exclusive of the day of the holiday) during the payroll week in which the holiday falls will receive a paid holiday for Veterans Day.
This means you must work or meet the availability requirements for at least two (2) days. Monday, November 9th; Tuesday, November 10th; Thursday, November 12th; Friday, November 13, 2020.
All work performed on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 will be at the overtime rate of pay.
Under the current contract one does not have to meet the availability requirements if you have worked 1300 hours in the prior payroll year (2019) to receive the Veterans Day paid holiday.
Anyone intending to take a vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Dispatch Hall on or before Friday, November 13, 2020 in order to be paid for the holiday. Any person not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc., must file a claim with the Records Clerk on or before Friday, December 25, 2020.
The Veterans Day holiday will be paid on the pay check of November 20, 2020.
