The ILWU Local 13 Office will be closed and Staff will NOT be available remotely on Monday, September 7, 2020 due to the Labor Day Holiday.
LABOR DAY PAID HOLIDAY
Labor Day Monday, September 7, 2020 is a paid holiday. Only registered members who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year (2019) and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days Monday through Friday (exclusive of the holiday) will receive a paid holiday for Labor Day. This means you must work or meet the availability requirements for at least two of these days, Tuesday, September 8th; Wednesday, September 9th; Thursday; September 10th and Friday, September 11, 2020.
LABOR DAY IS ONE OF THE HOLIDAYS THAT EVERYONE HAS TO MEET THE TWO DAY AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS.
Persons taking vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Dispatch Hall on or before September 11, 2020 or you will not receive the holiday pay. Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk on or before October 23, 2020.
The Labor Day holiday pay will be paid on September 18, 2020.
Some paid holiday notes:

Vacation must be reported no later than the end of the holiday week.

Vacation must be taken Monday through Friday.

To be made available means you cannot pass a job in your skill category or a clerk job

Two shifts in one day only counts as one day working. Example: If you work Tuesday, double up Tuesday night. This is one day of the requirement; you have worked two shifts in one day.
2020 FALL ELECTION MAIL BALLOT
Nomination papers must be returned to ILWU Local 13 no later than Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Please review these important dates listed below for the 2020 Fall Election:
Saturday, August 29, 2020: Nominations close at 10:00 a.m.
Fall Election Sample Ballot will be available on the website
Thursday, September 3, 2020: 2020 Fall Election ballots will be mailed last known address on file. It is the member’s responsibility to update their address with ILWU Local 13.
Friday, September 18, 2020: Ballots must be received by 10:00 a.m.

Monday, September 21, 2020: 2020 Fall Run Off Sample Ballot will be available on the website
Tuesday, September 22, 2020: 2020 Fall Run Off ballots will be mailed
Wednesday, October 7, 2020: Ballots must be received by 10:00 a.m.

Thursday, October 8, 2020: 2020 Fall Election officers and committee members will be sworn in at the Executive Board Meeting
ELIGIBILITY TO RUN FOR OFFICE
In accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws, Article IV, Nomination of Officers, Section 1, Sub-Section (f) and Article XI, Dues Fines and Assessments, Section 1, Sub-Section (b). For a member to be considered in good standing, they shall have their dues, fines, and assessments paid in full every month, for twelve consecutive months prior to picking up a nomination form. No nomination form shall be issued to the member if this criteria has not been met.

An election for the offices of Secretary/Treasurer (1), Labor Relations Representative (1), Health Benefits Representative (1), Trustee (1), Day Dispatchers (5), Day Business Agent (1), Night Business Agent (1), Night Dispatcher (1), Flex Dispatcher (1), Day Flex Dispatcher (1), Sgt-At-Arms (1), and District Council (10).
A run-off election will take place along with the election for Caucus Delegates (10).
