LABOR DAY PAID HOLIDAY
Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2024 is a paid holiday. Only registered members who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year (2023) and meet the availability requirement for at least two of the five days Monday through Friday (exclusive of the holiday) will receive a paid holiday for Labor Day. This means you must work or meet the availability requirement for at least two of these days, Tuesday, September 3; Wednesday, September 4; Thursday, September 5; and Friday, September 6, 2024.
LABOR DAY IS ONE OF THE HOLIDAYS THAT EVERYONE HAS TO
MEET THE TWO DAY AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Persons taking vacation during the holiday week must reports the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Dispatch Hall on or before Friday, September 6, 2024 or you will not receive the holiday pay. Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk on or before Friday, October 18, 2024.
The Labor Day holiday pay will be paid on Friday, September 13, 2024.

Vacation must be taken Monday through Friday

To be made available, means you cannot pass a job in your skill or category or a clerk job

Two shifts in one day only counts as one day working. (Example: Work Tuesday, Double-up Tuesday Night. This is one day of the requirement; You have worked two shifts in day.)
LOCAL 13 OFFICE CLOSED
The Office will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. The officers would like to wish everyone a safe holiday.
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 5, 2024 @ 7:30 P.M.
ILWU MEMORIAL HALL
The Officers understand the loss of work opportunity during the Labor Day holiday and have agreed to forego conducting a Stop Work meeting for the benefit of the Membership and their families.
