MEMBERSHIP MEETING CANCELLED

 

The regular membership meeting scheduled for July 2, 2020 will be cancelled due to the COVID 19 restrictions. 

 

 

LOCAL 13 STAFF

FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY

 

The ILWU Local 13 office staff will NOT be available remotely on Friday, July 3, 2020 due to the Fourth of July holiday.

 

DOUBLEBACK

 

The Doubleback list will be rolled over on the first Friday of every month until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.  However, the list will be electronically scrambled for fairness. Anyone that needs to be added to the Doubleback list can contact the Dues office 310-830-1130 ext. 118 or 126 to be added to the list.

GST TRAINING

Please be advised that PMA plans on rolling out GST classes in their attempt to resume regulatory training classes and targeted June 22, 2020 as the date Local 13 members and registrants may start receiving notices in the mail.  PMA has informed the Coast that classes will be in-person only and not by video or remote access.  

 

Reminder – NIGHT DOCK BOARD SIGN-UPS

Sign-ups for the Night Dock Board will be available with Records Clerk starting on Monday, June 1, 2020 through Tuesday, June 30, 2020 3:15 p.m.

 

Reminder – SHIP & DOCK GANG SIGN-UPS

Sign-ups for Ship & Dock Gang will be available with Records Clerk starting on Monday, June 1, 2020 through Tuesday, June 30, 2020 until 3:15 p.m.

 

JULY 4TH & 5TH 2020 HOLIDAYS

Saturday, July 4, 2020 will be a paid holiday.  Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year (2019) and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days Monday through Friday (exclusive of the holiday) during the payroll week in which the holiday falls will receive the paid holiday for July 4, 2020.  This means you must work or be available for two days, Tuesday, July 7th; Wednesday, July 8th; Thursday, July 9th and Friday, July 10th

Under the current contract when a holiday falls on a weekend the holiday will be observed on the following Monday.  This means all work on Monday, July 6, 2020 will be at the overtime rate.  

Under the current contract one does not have to meet the availability requirement if you worked 1300 hours or more in the prior payroll year (2019) to receive July 4, 2020 holiday pay.  

July 5th Bloody Thursday under the current contract is still a holiday, but not a paid holiday. Persons taking a vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Dispatch Hall on or before Friday, July 10, 2020. 

Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk on or before Friday, August 21, 2020.  

The July 4, 2020 holiday will be paid on the payroll check issued on Friday, July 17, 2020.
