ILWU LOCAL 13 STOP WORK MEETING

TURKEY DINNERS AT THE
STOP WORK MEETING
Turkey dinner plates will be sold for $5.00 at the Stop Work Meeting, Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the ILWU Memorial Hall. The meal will include Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Roll and Cranberry Sauce. Side items will be sold separately (@ $2.00 each – Apple or Pumpkin Pie) ($1.00 each – Soda or Water). Please patronize the ILWU Holiday Events Committee Fundraiser by bringing an empty stomach and help raise money towards the Annual Thanksgiving Event.
OFFICE OF LOCAL 13 CLOSED VETERAN’S DAY
The Office of Local 13 will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2013 in observance of the Veteran’s Day holiday. The office will re-open for business on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
VETERAN’S DAY PAID HOLIDAY
Veteran’s Day Monday, November 11, 2013 is a paid holiday. Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year 2012 and meet the availability requirement for at least two (2) of the five (5) days, Monday through Friday (exclusive of the day of the holiday) during the payroll week in which the holiday falls will receive a paid holiday for Veteran’s Day. This means you must work or meet the availability requirements for at least two (2) days. Tuesday, November 12th: Wednesday, November 13th; Thursday, November 14th and Friday, November 15, 2013. Under the current contract one does not have to meet the availability requirement if you have worked 1300 hours in the prior payroll year (2012) to receive the Veteran’s Day paid holiday. Anyone intending to take a vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Dispatch Hall on or before November 15, 2013 in order to be paid for the holiday. Any person not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc., must file a claim with the Records Clerk on or before January 3, 2014. The Veteran’s Day holiday will be paid on the paycheck of November 29, 2013.

To be available means you cannot pass a job in your skill category or a clerk job.

Vacation must be taken Monday through Friday.

It is your responsibility to keep track of your accumulative work hours. Dispatchers are not responsible for your hours. Please make sure to record your accumulated work hours in your time book. Time books are available in the Dues Office for $2.50.
