THANKSGIVING DAY PAID HOLIDAY

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 24, 2016 will be a paid holiday.  Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year 2015 and meet the availability requirements for at least two (2) of the five (5) days Monday through Friday (exclusive of the holiday) during the week in which the holiday falls, will receive a paid holiday for Thanksgiving Day.  This means you must work or meet the availability requirement for at least two (2) days, Monday, November 21; Tuesday, November 22, Wednesday, November 23 and Friday, November 25, 2016.

Thanksgiving Day is one of the holidays that everyone has to meet the two (2) day availability requirements.  Any person intending to take a vacation during the Thanksgiving week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Records Room in the Dispatch Hall on or before Friday, November 25, 2016 – NO EXCEPTIONS.  Any person not receiving Thanksgiving Day holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim on or before Friday, January 6, 2017.

Some paid holiday notes:

  • The Thanksgiving Day holiday pay will be paid on Friday, December 2, 2016.

  • Vacation must be taken Monday through Friday.

  • Two shifts in one day only counts as one day working.  Example:  Work Monday day, double-back Monday night; this is only one day of the requirement.  You have worked two shifts in one day.

  • To be considered available means you cannot pass a job in your skill category or a clerk job.

The Officers of Local 13 wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving Holiday!

Fraternally,

Bobby Olvera, Jr Mondo Porras Victor Hudak

President Vice President Secretary/Treasurer
