REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Regular Membership Meeting will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 @ 7:30 p.m. at the ILWU Memorial Hall, 231 W. “C” Street, Wilmington, CA 90744.

ILWU LOCAL 20 SOLIDARITY RALLY

JUNE 6, 2022 @ 11:00 A.M.

Let’s rally to support Local 20’s members during their negotiations with employer Rio Tinto on Monday, June 6, 2022 @ 11:00 a.m. to demand that Rio Tinto respects labor.  The rally will take place at Berth 165 – 300 Falcon Street, Wilmington, CA 90744.    

 

 

COVID CASES ON THE RISE

Due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, the Union would like to remind everybody to stay vigilant in protecting themselves in the workplace. Wear your mask and continue to social distance whenever possible.Any person that has not yet applied for COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave in 2022 is eligible to receive additional days of paid leave retroactive to January 1, 2022.

Applications can be made through the online Dockworker Self-Service Portal https://selfservice.pmanet.org and click on the COVID19 Leave Request Option to see the reasons listed below. 

If you or a family member test/tested positive, you may be eligible to receive up to 10 days of paid leave (Reasons 1 and 3).

Workplace exclusions may also be eligible to receive up to 10 days of Exclusion Pay (Reason 7).  For all other claims, you may be eligible to receive up to five days of paid leave (Reasons 2,4,5,6 and 10).” 

 

CASUAL BOARD OR RED NUMBER STATUS NEW POLICY – EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2022

Due to the recent increase in Membership, the Local must require anyone checking in or checking out of the CASUAL BOARD OR RED NUMBER LIST, to submit their medical notes by 1:00 p.m. to the Benefits Office.  This policy will go into effect July 1, 2022 in order to allow the Union and Dispatch to add or remove members with reasonable accommodations in a timely and efficient manner.

 

NO LOITERING AT DISPATCH HALL EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Effective immediately – there will be NO LOITERING at the Dispatch Hall.  The Dispatch Hall will close at 7:00 p.m.  If you are not picking up a job, you will be asked to leave by Security.  If you refuse to leave, the police will be called and you will be put on non-dispatch.
