STOP WORK MEETING
THURSDAY, APRIL 2, 2020 @ 7:00 P.M.
CANCELLED
The Stop Work Meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2020 has been cancelled. All officers and committee members will be sworn in at the office when they start their position.
NO INDUSTRY TRAVEL
Per CLRC-10-20, there will be no industry travel.
OFFICE OF LOCAL 13 CLOSED
CESAR CHAVEZ BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY
The Office of Local 13 will be closed on Monday, March 30, 2020 in observance of Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday.
SPRING RUN-OFF ELECTION
Spring run-off election will be held on Tuesday, March 24th; Wednesday, March 25th; and Thursday, March 26, 2020. Voting will take place at the ILWU Memorial Hall, 231 W. “C” Street, Wilmington, 90744. The polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on each day.
CESAR CHAVEZ PAID
BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY
Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday Tuesday, March 31, 2020 is a paid holiday. Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year (2019) and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days (exclusive of the holiday) Monday through Friday will receive a paid holiday for Cesar Chavez Birthday. This means you must work or meet the availability requirement for at least two days: Monday, March 30th; Wednesday, April 1st; and Thursday, April 2nd and Friday, April 3, 2020.
Under the current contract one does not have to meet the availability requirements if you worked 1300 hours in the prior payroll year (2019) to receive Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday pay.
Persons taking a vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk before April 3, 2020. Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk before May 15, 2020. The Cesar Chavez birthday holiday pay will be paid on the pay check of April 10, 2020.
