AUTO JOBS

It has been brought to the attention of the Officers that there were severe damages found to the bumpers of 24 vehicles on Friday, December 21st aboard the “Andromeda Leader” at the Toyota Dock (LB83).  This is a very serious matter for Toyota, NYK Line, SSA Marine, and for the ILWU.  Any act of vandalism will not be tolerated.  Anyone caught vandalizing any car will be punished to the full extent of the contract.  Help protect our work by treating each car as if it were your own car.  If you see anyone vandalizing any vehicle, report it to your Foreman immediately.

Also pilferage such as stealing car keys and knobs from cars may result in legal action as well as internal LRC action.

SHIFT WORK

It is a violation of the Dispatch Rules to not work your primary shift and then Double-back.  This includes picking up jobs that are hanging without express permission from the Officers for special circumstances.

Violators will be processed through the Grievance machinery.

SAFETY

There has been a rash of dangerous situations created by lashing bars left hanging on containers being unloaded. There is no reason for this to occur but recently many less experienced workers have been lashing.

Please remember to take care on lashes and when working below containers being unloaded.  Watch out for each other in all facets of the job.

Fraternally,

Mark Mendoza Gary Herrera Victor Hudak

President Vice President Secretary/Treasurer
