SPECIAL ONE DAY ELECTION
REFERENDUM BALLOT
CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGES
A Special One Day Election will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the ILWU Memorial Hall, 231 W. “C” Street, Wilmington, for the following Constitutional changes listed below.
The following Constitutional changes were approved by the membership on December 7, 2023, with a second approval on January 11, 2024.
CONSTITUTION COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS
Are you in favor of reducing the number of Labor Relations Representatives from four (4) to three (3). If you are in favor of this constitutional change, please vote “YES.” If you are not in favor, please vote “NO.”
If yes, the following amendments shall apply:
ARTICLE III
DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Old Language
Section 4. LABOR RELATIONS COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVES:

There shall be four (4) Labor Relations Committee Representatives.

They shall represent the Local at all Labor Relations Committee meetings.

The Labor Relations Committee Representatives shall work under the direction of the President.

The Labor Relations Committee Representatives shall perform other duties as the Local may assign.

The Labor Relations Committee Representatives shall at the expiration of their term, recall, removal or resignation turn over to the Local, all property in their possession belonging to the Local.
New Language
