The Office of Local 13 will be closed on April 1, 2024, in observance of Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday.

BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY
Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday on Sunday, March 31, 2024, is a paid holiday. Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year (2023) and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days (exclusive of the holiday) Monday through Friday will receive a paid holiday for Cesar Chavez Birthday. This means you must work or meet the availability requirement for at least two days: Tuesday, April 2nd, Wednesday, April 3rd, Thursday, April 4th and Friday, April 5, 2024.
Under the current contract, when a holiday falls on a weekend, the holiday shall be observed on Monday of that week.
All work performed on Monday, April 1, 2024, shall be at the overtime rate.
Under the current contract, one does not have to meet the availability requirements if you worked 1300 hours in the prior payroll year (2023) to receive Cesar Chavez Birthday holiday pay.
Persons taking a vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk before Friday, April 5, 2024. Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk before Friday, May 17, 2024. The Cesar Chavez birthday holiday pay will be paid on the paycheck of April 12, 2023.
