CESAR CHAVEZ BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY
The Office of Local 13 will be closed on Monday, March 31, 2014 in observance of Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday.
CESAR CHAVEZ PAID BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY
Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday Monday, March 31, 2014 is a paid holiday. Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year (2013) and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days (exclusive of the holiday) Monday through Friday will receive a paid holiday for Cesar Chavez Birthday. This means you must work two of the days: Tuesday, April 1, Wednesday, April 2; Thursday, April 3; and Friday, April 4, 2014. Under the current contract one does not have to meet the availability requirements if you worked 1300 hours in the prior payroll year (2013) to receive Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday pay. Persons taking a vacation during the holiday week must report your vacation to the Records Clerk before April 4, 2014. Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc., must file a claim with the Records Clerk before May 23, 2014. The Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday pay will be paid on April 18, 2014 paycheck.
DOUBLE-BACK CARDS
Double Back cards for both day and nights will be available for pick-up beginning on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at ILWU Local 13 Dues Office during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.). In order to check in for Double Back, all dues, fines and assessments must be paid (per January 26, 1995 Executive Board Meeting motion, M/S/C – Any jointly registered person who wished to check in on the double back board must have his or her dues, fines or assessments paid up to date – Approved at the February 1, 1995 Regular Membership Meeting).
All Class A members must turn in their Double Back card at the end of the April 3, 2014 Regular Membership Meeting. This process will establish Double Back lists for the month.
Class B registrants only need to pick up and turn in their Double Back card at the ILWU Local 13 Dues Office beginning on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 and ending on April 3, 2014 during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING
THURSDAY, APRIL 3, 2014 @ 7:30 P.M.
The Caucus Delegates will be giving a report on the Caucus held in March. Please plan to attend. Please note: ILWU Local 63 Marine Clerks have called a Stop Work Meting the same night as our Regular Membership Meeting – ILWU LOCAL 13 IS NOT HAVING A STOP WORK MEETING.

Any members who did not make their hours in 2013 (800/1300 hours) please contact the Records Clerk regarding vacation pay and holiday pay.
CLASS “A” DELINQUENT REMINDER
Class “A” delinquent day is on the 15th of each month (If the 15th should fall on a Saturday or Sunday, delinquent day will commence on the following Monday). The cut off time to pay your dues on the 15th of each month is 3:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
IF YOU DO NOT PAY YOUR DUES BY 3:00 P.M. ON THE 15TH, YOU WILL BE DELINQUENT AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WORK. EVERY FRIDAY A NEW LIST WILL BE SENT TO THE DISPATCH HALL AT 3:00 P.M. YOU WILL BE DEAD FOR THE WEEKEND AND THE FOLLOWING MONDAY UNTIL YOU ARE CLEARED BY THE DUES OFFICE (630 S. CENTRE STREET, SAN PEDRO, CA 90731). THIS ALSO INCLUDES MEMBERS WITH PERMITS; YOU MUST PAY BEFORE 3:00 P.M. THE DUES OFFICE OPENS AT 7:00 A.M. ON DELINQUENT DAY.
DELINQUENT MEMBERS WILL BE REMOVED FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE BOARD
Members who are delinquent with their dues will be removed from their respective board. Each member removed will be recognized as a member that could not check-in (no adding of flop hours). Member will take average after being off their board or unavailable three (3) or more consecutive days if his/her hour is below average. A member with hours that is higher than average will check-in with the higher hours.
CLASS “B” REGISTRANTS
Class “B” delinquent day is at the end of every month. You must pay your Class “B” registrant fees by 3:00 p.m. on the last day of the month, or you will be placed on the non-dispatch list.
