PORT OF LOS ANGELES HARBOR COMMISSION COASTAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT NO. 18-25 UPDATE

 

Brothers & Sisters, as you know, the Port of Los Angeles Harbor Commissioners approved the Coastal Development Permit 18-25 with a 3-2 vote in favor of APM Terminals.  

 

Here is an update on what is going to happen now:

Friday, June 21, 2019:  Councilman Buscaino introduced a motion requesting the City Council take the following actions:

 

  • Assert Jurisdiction over the Board of Harbor Commissioners’ June 20, 2019 action to deny an appeal on Coastal Development Permit No. 18-25, pursuant to City Charter section 245.
  • Veto the Board of Harbor Commissioners’ denial of the appeal, and remand the matter back to the Board.

 

Friday, June 28, 2019:  City Council will vote on the Buscaino motion at 10:00 a.m. in the John Ferraro Council Chambers at L.A. City Hall, 200 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

 

  • Motion will go directly to Council for a vote and will be heard in Trade, Travel & Tourism Committee
  • Public comment can be made at the City Council meeting.  Speakers should sign up using the electronic kiosk outside of, and in the rear of, the Council Chambers – Room 340 of City Hall.
  • Letters can be submitted for the record by emailing a PDF copy to John White, Clerks of Trade, Travel & Tourism Committee at john.white@lacity.org
  • Written comments can be submitted electronically through the Council File Management System, starting Monday, June 24, 2019 at LACouncilFile.com by searching for “APM 245” or entering the Council File number, to be assigned by the City Clerk after the motion is introduced.
