Any member who has been elected to an office or committee, please attend the meeting to be sworn in.  

 

2019 SPRING RUN OFF ELECTION

 

The proposed constitutional changes will be placed on the 2019 Spring run-off ballot along with the office(s) for the Membership Committee (16), Political Action Committee (6), Executive Board (25) and other office(s) in the run-off(s).  The proposed constitutional changes and run-off(s) will take place as indicated below:

 

Date: March 26th, 27th, and 28th, 2019

Time: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL BY-LAWS GENERAL RULES CHANGE ELECTION

 

At the August 2, 2018 Stop Work Meeting, the following motion was carried:  M/ S/C:  To change the Constitution General Rules, Item #1 voting fine from $2.00 to $10.00.” A second reading was read and accepted by the membership at the November 1, 2018 Stop Work Meeting.  

 

General Rules, Item #1:

All members are required to vote at all elections, regular or special, where voting is for two days or more, or be fined two dollars ($2.00) for failure to do so, except sick or injured members and all members out of town, who have cleared with the Secretary/Treasurer.

 

Proposed change to read:

All members are required to vote at all elections, regular or special, where voting is for two days or more, or be fined ten dollars ($10.00) for failure to do so, except sick or injured members and all members out of town, who have cleared with the Secretary/Treasurer.

 

OFFICE OF LOCAL 13 CLOSED

CESAR CHAVEZ BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY

The Office of Local 13 will be closed on Monday, April 1, 2019 in observance of Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday.

CESAR CHAVEZ PAID 

BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY

Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday Sunday, March 31, 2019 is a paid holiday.  Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year (2018) and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days (exclusive of the holiday) Monday through Friday will receive a paid holiday for Cesar Chavez Birthday.  This means you must work or meet the availability requirement for at least two days: Tuesday, April 2nd; Wednesday, April 3rd; and Thursday, April 4th and Friday, April 5, 2019.

Under the current contract one does not have to meet the availability requirements if you worked 1300 hours in the prior payroll year (2018) to receive Cesar Chavez Birthday Holiday pay.  

Persons taking a vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk before April 5, 2019.  Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk before May 17, 2019.  The Cesar Chavez birthday holiday pay will be paid on the pay check of April 12, 2019.
