HEALTH BENEFITS BULLETIN

Brothers & Sisters,

I would like to thank all those that have participated in our successful 2018 Workshops:

  • What To Do When Injured At Work
  • Retirement
  • Reading Your Explanation Of Benefits (EOB’s)
  • Mental Health (first one ever)

Especially the panelist, the speakers, Hojas for providing light refreshments, Roman Gonzalez #131597 & Rich Velazquez #132729 for volunteering their time, Tamiko Love (ADRP), Sam Alvarado (AWD) and the support of our Health Benefits staff.

We will continue to provide the membership with helpful educational workshops on various topics.  Currently in the works: A Financial Workshop to help with financial discipline, Fidelity 401K, pre-planning of your burial and Long Term Care options.

UPDATE YOUR BENEFICIARY INFORMATION

Brothers & Sisters,

When you update and designate a beneficiary, please try, as much as possible, to designate a beneficiary residing in the United States.  Through our experience, we find it extremely difficult to reach out to designated beneficiaries out of the Country.

ADA

(American Disability Act)

The September 4th ADA was cancelled and rescheduled to Tuesday, September 11, 2018,  9:00 a.m. at Pacific Maritime Association, 1 World Trade Center 1700 (17th Floor), Long Beach, CA  90831 (no parking validation – cash only).

APPOINTMENT WITH THE HEALTH BENEFITS OFFICER

The Health Benefits Officer maintains an open door policy, however, if you need special assistance, (i.e. retirement, disability or personal matter) we recommend that you schedule an appointment with Jerry Avila at (310) 830-6116.

LONG LIVE THE ILWU!

In Solidarity,
