PAID HOLIDAY
Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday, Monday, January 15, 2018 is a paid holiday. Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year 2017 and meet the availability requirements for at least two of the five days, Monday through Friday (exclusive of the day of the holiday) during the payroll week in which the holiday falls will receive a paid holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday. This means you must work or meet the availability requirement for at least two days Tuesday, January 16; Wednesday, January 17; Thursday, January 18 and Friday, January 19, 2018.
Under the current contract, one does not have to meet the availability requirement if you have worked 1300 hours in the prior payroll year (2017) to receive Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday paid holiday. Anyone intending to take a vacation during the holiday week must report the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Dispatch Hall on or before Friday, January 19, 2018 in order to be paid for the holiday. Any person not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk on or before Friday, March 2, 2018.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. paid holiday will be paid on paycheck of January 26, 2018.

The Office will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2018 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday holiday.
