PAID HOLIDAYS

 

Sunday, December 24, 2017 – Christmas Eve

Monday, December 25, 2017 – Christmas Day

Sunday, December 31, 2017 – New Year’s Eve

Monday, January 1, 2018 – New Year’s Day

 

ALL DAYS LISTED ABOVE ARE PAID HOLIDAYS

 

Only registered persons who have 800 qualifying hours in the prior payroll year 2016 and meet the availability requirements for at least two (2) of the five (5) days Monday through Friday (exclusive of the days of the holiday) during the payroll weeks in which the holiday falls will receive a paid holiday for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.  

Attention new registrants:  As per Coast LRC 12-97, if you were registered in 2017 and have worked 800 hours, you are eligible for these holidays as long as you meet the availability requirements.  

For the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day holidays, you must work or meet the availability for two of four days that apply to this section of the contract.  These days are Tuesday, December 26; Wednesday, December 27; Thursday, December 28 and Friday, December 29, 2017.  

For the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s holiday you must work or meet the availability requirements for two of the four days that apply to this section of the contract. These days are Tuesday, January 2, 2018; Wednesday, January 3, 2018; Thursday, January 4, 2018, and Friday, January 5, 2018.  Persons intending to take vacation during the holidays must report the vacation to the Records Clerk in the Dispatch Hall on or before Friday, December 29, 2017 for the Christmas Eve and Christmas holidays, and on or before January 5, 2018 for the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s holidays. Persons not receiving holiday pay because of illness, injury, jury duty, etc. must file a claim with the Records Clerk on or before February 9, 2018 for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Holidays and on or before February 16, 2018 for the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s holiday. 

Some paid holiday notes:

  • Vacation must be taken Monday through Friday.  
  • Two shifts in one day only counts as one day working.  

Example:  Work Tuesday day, double-back Tuesday night.  This is one day of the requirement.  You have worked two shifts in one day.  

 

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING CANCELLED

 

During the holiday closure, the Executive Board Meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 28, 2017 @ 12:30 p.m. will be cancelled.  

 

CLASS B DELINQUENT DAY EXTENSION

 

During the holiday closure, the Class B Delinquent Day will be extended until Wednesday, January 3, 2018 @ 3:00 p.m.

 

STOP WORK MEETING

THURSDAY, JANUARY 11, 2018  

 

The regular scheduled membership meeting scheduled for January 4, 2018 will be postponed until Thursday, January 11, 2018 @ 7:00 p.m.  

 

 

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING 

THURSDAY, JANUARY 11, 2018 

 

The Executive Board Meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2018

will be held at 12:30 p.m.
