MESSAGE FROM THE BUSINESS AGENTS

 

Brothers & Sisters, the Business Agents have seen a dramatic increase in accidents.  We ask that you do the following:

 

  1. Inspect your equipment.

  2. Slow down and stop at ALL stop signs.

  3. Excessive smoke from equipment; PCMSC Rule 1203.  Members have been getting sick from excessive exhaust, notify your Foreman and do not drive equipment.

  4. Stay off your cell phones.

  5. If you witness an accident or are involved in one, please call the Business Agent.  Do not leave the scene until talking to the BA.

  6. DO NOT post pictures of accidents or firings on any SOCIAL MEDIA.  

 

What to do when injured on the JOB

  1. Report the injury – NOTIFY your employer  and refer to the (PCMSC) Safety Code Section 602  and the Workers’ Compensation Under The Longshore Act LS-560

  2. The injured worker has the right to receive medical treatment by any doctor of his/her choice. Request an LS1.
