On Friday, May 10, 2013 the Trustees of the ILWU-PMA Benefit Plans met to discuss the progress of Coastwise-Zenith as the Third Party Administrator of the Coastwise Claims Office. Coastwise-Zenith will continue to provide onsite support to our members with problematic claims at 620 S. Centre St., San Pedro, CA  90731 for the week beginning on May 13, 2013.

Local 13 has pledged its full support to the Plan Trustees in resolving problematic claims to the point of payment.  We, Local 13, continue to remain instrumental in the efforts to continue having Coastwise-Zenith available onsite for the purpose of resolving problematic claims for our members.  Local 13 will continue to work with Coastwise-Zenith on these issues until ALL claims have been resolved and they are on track with claims processing or until alternative solutions have been decided.

 

Please make use of Coastwise-Zenith time while they are here onsite with us, so they can realize the depth of the problem and the need for them to be here in our Port until all is resolved.

PROBLEMATIC CLAIMS

 

Coastwise Claims/Zenith will start providing on-site claims & customer service support to all Southern California ILWU on the following dates and location:

 

Monday

(04/29/13)

10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday through Friday

(04/30/13 – 05/03/13)

9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 

620 S. Centre Street

San Pedro, CA  90731

(Corner of 6th and Centre Street next to Subway)

 

Please bring all EOB’s, Claims and Medical Bills (out of the envelope) and have ready for review.

 

Any inappropriate behavior (discriminatory remarks, harassing conduct, cursing, shouting or threats) will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave the premises.

ZENITH AMERICAN


SOLUTIONS MEETING


ILWU, Local 13 will be providing bus transportation for the first 200 members to San Francisco to attend the next meeting of the ILWU-PMA Welfare Benefit Plan and Zenith American Solutions, the company that has taken over processing our health claims.  By our presence at this meeting, we will show Zenith American Solutions that their delay in handling our health claims is unacceptable and that they must hire the necessary workforce to eliminate the backlog of claims immediately.  Please join us so we may send a strong and unified message to Zenith American Solutions that the ILWU will not accept less than timely and excellent service from its claims administrator.


Buses will depart from ILWU Memorial Hall at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Tuesday, April 9, 2013.  If you will be providing your own transportation, the meeting begins on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at PMA Headquarters, 555 Market Street, San Francisco, California 94105.  You are encouraged to bring copies of paperwork reflecting unprocessed claims.
